Elements of a utopia, White balance /2017

Paintings and drawings are exhbited at Gallery M, Berlin in 2016
Marzahn is a district in Berlin and is home to one of its largest housing estates. Long, intersected high-rise buildings, which look like snakes from above, are pressed tightly against each other. An utopian thought is to give you, architecture recreation and balance. The 14 storeys high -rise walls are aimed to strike a balance between nature and city. - Neutralisation

In a further experiment, the housing estates were painted out and the natural landscape neutralized. I call it White-balance.

White-balance is a game with alternative projections, which evens out the specifications that an environment often experiences. Perhaps a way to step out of the sharpened look on the familiar and to break away from the feeling of narrowness that is connecting with a place in time.

In order to convey this, not only as an idea or a vision, but also to make it real, an alternative approach has been developed: simulating the changing appearance of the objects by means of frames that are installed in the room and supplemented with complementary picture elements (Matterhorn, Switzerland).

The rest of the landscape remains unchanged as before, but it still seems fundamentally changing. Today, many utopias have arrived in reality, but they also open their eyes to new utopias and horizons.

The way a feeling for a landscape can change when you paint away what is there.
